I/ASeries系统处理机组件通过节点总线(NODEBUS)相互连接,形成过程管理和控制节点。每一个组件也可通过一根或多根的通讯链路与外围设备或其它类型的组件相连。节点总线为I/ASeries系统中的各个站(控制处理机,操作站处理机等)之间提供高速,冗余的点到点通讯,具有优异的性能和安全性。
与主要设计成处理连续量,反馈类型的控制回路的DCS不同,I/ASeries设计成用来满足全部测量和控制需求。

The I/ASeries system processor components are connected to each other via a node bus (NODEBUS) to form process management and control nodes. Each component may also be connected to peripherals or other types of components through one or more communication links. The node bus provides high-speed, redundant point-to-point communication between various stations (control processors, operating station processors, etc.) in an I/ASeries system with excellent performance and security.
Unlike DCS, which are primarily designed to handle continuous volume, feedback type control loops, I/ASeries are designed to meet all measurement and control needs.
The integrated control configuration package provided by the system is used to handle a common, object-based intelligent measurement and continuous control, sequential control and ladder logic control. Use a variety of proven control block algorithms.
Including to help users keep the most difficult loops under control, the I/ASeries system uses advanced control algorithms such as the patented expert system-based EXACTPID parameter self-tuning and multi-variable EXACTPID parameter self-tuning. There are control modules dedicated to pulse/digital signal control of on-off valves, electric valves and other actuators, as well as the SMITH estimation method to deal with long hysteresis loops encountered in the process.
