Each Tricon rack has six RS-485I/O expansion bus interfaces in the upper left corner of the chassis, which can be connected to the DCS. The RS-485 port of the expansion frame is connected to the other frame with an I/O cable, that is, each I/O module in the frame is connected through a triple RS-485 bidirectional communication port. Each rack is a node within multiple I/O expansion buses.
