To configure module operations and parameters, you can use ProSoft Configuration Generator (PCB) and Product Discovery Service (PDS).

By reducing data blocks, the MVI56E-MCMR requires less backplane/network bandwidth and enables simpler scheduling and transmission over the ControlNet network. In addition, when used with ControlNet communication adapters and redundant controllers, the reduced data blocks are actually used for remote chassis installation.

To install the Prosoft MVI56E-MCMR module, users must have an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix processor, which has a free slot in the rack for this Modbus module, and a 5-volt DC backplane power supply of 800 mA. The device also requires an additional 24 mA of current from a 3 V DC supply. This enhanced Modbus master/slave communication module can be stored in a temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius (-40 to 185 degrees Fahrenheit), but can only be used in a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius (32 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit). For data transfer between the MVI56E-MCMR and the processor, sample ladder instructions or additional instructions are used. On the upper front side of the device, there is a scrolling LED display with 4 characters for status and diagnostic messages in plain English. This module has the CF card option to store configuration Settings for all users. In this way, users can replace defective modules with new ones and perform a fast field transfer of all Settings and data from the CF card.
