The SCXI-1303 (Part No. : 777687-03) 32 channel wiring terminals are recommended for the following SCXI modules: SCXI-1100/110102/1102B /1102C. This terminal is recommended for high precision thermocouple temperature measurement applications. The NI SCXI-1303 features an extremely accurate thermistor cold end temperature sensor, as well as an isothermal copper layer that reduces the temperature gradient on the screw terminal when the user completes the measurement with a thermocouple. The NI SCXI 1303 has special functions such as thermocouple open circuit detection, signal ground reference and isothermal.
The terminal has 78 screw terminals for easy signal connection. 32 pairs of screw terminals are connected to the 32 differential inputs of the SCXI module. A pair of terminals are connected to the chassis grounding pins on the module. In addition, three terminals are connected to the SCXI module OUTPUT and AOREF pins, as well as the SCXIbus GUARD. The remaining terminals are saved for future use.
The circuit of the SCXI-1303 terminal helps the user sense the open circuit thermocouple. In order to distinguish whether any thermocouple is turned on, the user can determine whether the matching SCXI module channel is saturated. The NI SCXI-1303 also has a pull-up and bias resistance that saturates the channel by applying a +5 V voltage to the input of the open channel. The result is saturation on track. The SCXI 1303 can be used with 10 Ω and 10 MΩ bias resistors. The 10 MΩ resistor is used in the SCXI-1102/B/C module, and the 10 Ω resistor is used in the SCXI-1100 module. The bias resistor can be easily replaced by the user. The device is equipped with a thermistor cold end sensor with an accuracy of 0.5 °C over 15 to 35 °C, 0.9 °C over 0 to 15 °C, and 35 to 55 °C over 35 to 55 °C.
