The new NI PXIe-4139 System Source Measurement Unit (SMU) delivers high performance, accuracy and speed through the single-slot PXI Express module. The SMU's advantages in performance, accuracy, and speed make it ideal for a variety of applications, including on-board level testing and manufacturing tests or laboratory characterization using ics (PMIC, RFIC, etc.) and discrete components (leds, optical transceivers, etc.). For high channel count applications, you can use a 4U PXI chassis to achieve up to 17 SMU channels.
The NI PXY-4139 can operate in four quarters, with power up to 20 W DC and voltage and current ranges of ±60 V and ±3 A. The module uses a unique ADC technology that enables users to perform high-precision measurements with current resolutions of 100 fA or high-speed acquisition rates of up to 1.8 MS/s. The NI PXIe-4139 hardware timing instrument features a high-speed sequence engine that synchronizes data acquisition between multiple SMUs. The module supports direct DMA data flow between the host computer and the SMU, enabling you to read and write a large number of waveforms and measurement data using the instrument's maximum update rate and sampling rate.
A wider range of pulses
For applications requiring higher currents, the NI PXIe-4139 can generate pulses of up to 10A at 50V, providing instantaneous power of 500W. Depending on the load and SourceAdapt control Settings, the pulse width can be as little as 50 μs. Short pulse widths not only shorten the test time, but also keep the local heat of the device under test to a minimum, so test engineers can perform tests without the use of heat dissipation systems or other thermal control mechanisms.
