The IS220PSCAH1A I/O package is used for serial Modbus communication. The kit is designed for General Electric's Mark VIeS control system. When used, this package can provide an interface between up to two input-output Ethernet networks and a serial communication board. The board has six individually configurable serial transceiver channels available for RS485 half-duplex, RS232 and RS422 standards. The input needed to power the PSCA battery pack is sent via a three-pin power input and dual RJ45 Ethernet connector.

There is a serial Modbus master service on the IS220PSCAH1A package, which has many different features, some of which are as follows:

These functions are used for the six configurable ports on the PSCA package. This can be done at the port level. With PSCA, two Ethernet ports on the packaging can be used to help support the Ethernet Modbus master protocol; Note that this configuration occurs only when used on a simplex network.

The IS220PSCAH1A package has the ability to perform self-diagnostic tests, one of which is to monitor analog inputs, monitor position and pressure to check for configurable high and low levels.
