The primary purpose of the TR trip logic function is to act as a single node through which all trips of the entire SR469-P5-HI-A20-E terminal are routed. The main purpose of unipolar and bipolar extensions of the basic tripole trip function is to meet the following applications: single-phase faults require unipolar trips for system stability reasons, and/or two-phase faults require bipolar trips, such as double-circuit parallel lines.
