The GE 531X309SPCAFG1 board is a signal processor card. As a member of the 531X series, the processor card can be installed in the cabinet of many GE branded drives or exciters. The board operates by handling I/O sent to the LAN board as well as to the drive board.

Many functions are built into the signal processor board. The board provides the interface function between the card and the encoder or tachometer. These communications can provide speed feedback to the driver's control board. The card converts three current reference signals and a voltage level signal into a voltage reference signal. The 531X309SPCAFG1 then relays these signals to the control board. The RS-422 serial signal is processed by the card and sent to the driver's on-board motor control processor. Many switches, jumpers, and potentiometers allow users to vary signal filtering, gain, and hardware configuration.

Any installation parameters provided by the motherboard manufacturer should be met. Following these provided guidelines will prevent any accidental damage to the motherboard and drive.
