The GE Auxiliary Drive interface control board DS3800DDIB has 8 trimmer resistors and 2 jumpers. The GE Auxiliary Drive Interface control board DS3800DDIB is also equipped with 9 test points and 12 resistors. The ids of the trimmer resistors are VCAL, VMET, MVC, IFC, IFM, IAC, TIA and IAM. Fine-tuning resistors enables installers to calibrate the board to the specific requirements of the driver. A small flat-head screwdriver is needed to adjust the assembly. Adjustments also need to be made using tester equipment. The installer will adjust the trimmer resistance and test it several times until the desired result is indicated.

When installing a circuit board, it is best practice to document the Settings of the circuit so that the replacement board can be calibrated to the same specifications if the board must be replaced. The Settings retain other important information about the board. This includes the serial number and model number, as well as instructions for contacting customer support.

When you are ready to replace the board, have a tester device calibrated for the test being performed and check the probes to make sure they are in good condition. Also check to make sure they are compatible with the tester. Place the replacement board on a flat, clean surface and test the various circuits on the board using test points. Each trimmer resistor is used to adjust a particular circuit. When all the circuits match the Settings on the original board, you are ready to install the replacement board.
