The GE Turbine control board DS3800HCIB features a modular connector for connection to the drive and a retainer rod for securing the board in the drive. The GE turbine control board DS3800HCIB is also equipped with a jumper and an amber indicator LED. The board also has a 20-pin connector, a 50-pin connector, and multiple capacitors.

The capacitor DS3800HCIB on the GE turbine control board has an ID that is visible on the board surface. They are prefixed with the letter C. The prefix is followed by a number that is unique for each capacitor. C16, C19, and C28 are some of the ids associated with capacitors. When removing the circuit board from the driver, special consideration needs to be given to the capacitor. Capacitors are designed to store high voltages during normal processing. They also release high-voltage current when needed, and this cycle of storing and releasing current poses no danger to the operator or others in the surrounding area. However, when the board is removed from the driver, the capacitor may still store some high-voltage current. This puts technicians or others who touch the board at risk of shock or electrical burns.

However, the capacitor will release the current after disconnecting the power from the drive within 30 seconds. In other words, if you wait 30 seconds before touching the board, you eliminate the risk to the technician. After 30 seconds, open the retaining rod and carefully remove the circuit board.
