The GE gas turbine subroutine DS3800HCMC features modular connectors for connection to the drive and a retainer rod for securing the board in the drive. The GE gas turbine sub-board DS3800HCMC also has 14 jumpers, 1 amber and 2 red indicator leds. The board also features 2 34-pin connectors, as well as multiple capacitors and resistors.

The GE gas turbine daughter board DS3800HCMC also has an erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) module embedded. This module stores firmware and machine-readable code, which are processing instructions used by the drive. If a code update is available, it can be downloaded via a laptop or other device. The module resides in a socket embedded in the circuit board. The module can be removed from the slot. Insert the blade instrument between the socket and the module. Operate the blade server back and forth to pry open the module. Any static electricity entering the module will damage the module. That is, the contents of the module may become corrupted and unusable. To prevent this, place the module in a static protection bag immediately. It is best to wear a wristband when using the module.
