The DS3800HDDL is General Electric's HMI or human machine interface. The DS3800HDDL has 3,800 light blue resistors with red, purple, yellow, black and brown bands. There are four light blue resistors, with one brown band, three black bands, and then another brown band. The last resistor is light blue with two brown bands, two black bands and one last brown band.

These resistors are banded to show how much energy each resistor can contain. There are 15 EPROMs. Each EPROM is a programmable component that holds data to make the board work properly. The DS3800HDDL has a section where additional EPROMs can be placed. This section is labeled "SPARE" and has the correct connection point. There are 15 cyan diodes. The DS3800HDDL also has a large female connection terminal along the edge. The bottom edges are labeled A-I, with small triangles between each letter. DS<>HDDL also has two yellow ten-pin capacitors and two silver capacitors.

The board also has five leds (light emitting diodes). Four of the leds are yellow and one is red. There are also six bands, each with a small glowing section. Each light in these strips has a corresponding number and phase to indicate the condition of the machine. Each light strip is divided into different parts. These sections include motor faults, frequency converter faults, alarms, drive status, reference selection, and status. After the problem is solved, there is also a small reset button that can be pressed.
