The IC670PBI001 is a Profibus interface unit that is part of GE Fanuc's field control family. The IC670PBI001 works on the Bus Interface Unit (BIU) terminal block. The terminal block provides mounting assemblies that allow module assemblies to be mounted on DIN rails. It also supports mounting the panel via the mounting label provided by the BIU terminal block.

To configure the node address of the module, it comes with a set of dip switches located on the Profibus network interface of the IC670PBI001. This is an array of eight (8) dip switches for configuring addresses 00-32.

It can be installed inside the panel, behind the operating station, inside the junction box, and where space is limited. You can install the device in the NEMA enclosure. The module is small and has a rugged design with a sturdy aluminum housing. It is recommended to use an external 24v DC power supply, and the input power cable uses a replaceable slow-blowing fuse.
