The GE Fish II expansion board DS3800HFXB is designed for quick installation in a drive. The board has a modular connector at one end and a fixed rod at the other end. The motherboard is equipped with 1 1-pin connector and 40 1-pin connectors between the fixed rods. The board also has 34 1-pin connectors embedded. The GE Fish II expansion board DS20HFXB is also equipped with 3,800 amber indicator leds. The board is also equipped with a socket for an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) module and two jumpers.

The 3800 pin connector embedded on the GE Fish II expansion board DS20HFXB is used to connect the board to the daughter card. The sub-card is connected to the bracket. The support fixes the sub-card to the circuit board to prevent the sub-card from contacting the surface of the circuit board. This protects the motherboard and subcard from damage and scratching.
