The DS3800HMPF1E1F is part of General Electric's Mark IV Speedtronic system. The Mark IV was one of the late Speedtronic turbine control systems released by General Electric and the first to offer a triple modular redundant distributed control system. This control architecture relies on three identical controller boards, of which the DS3800HMPF1E1F is a version that votes on all data before it is used for control or display purposes.
The DS3800HMPF1E1F was one of the first Mark IV controllers available. It is built on the Intel 8086 microprocessor chip. The chip is a clear improvement over earlier microprocessors, including floating-point performance. The chip's clock frequency varies from 5 MHz to 10 MHz (depending on its production time). The chip also offers 16 - or 8-bit cycles of data transmission.
