The DS3800HRPB is a large, complex circuit board supplied by General Electric for its Speedtronic Mark IV turbine family. The DS3800HRPB has twenty-four integrated circuits. An integrated circuit is a device that holds the programming of a circuit board. Integrated circuits are divided into two separate groups, called EPROM and EEPROM. They both hold programming data, but EPROMs can be updated where EEPROMs cannot be updated. There is a small space labeled "SPARE" in which additional integrated circuits can be added.

The DS3800HRPB has eight small silver transistors and one large silver transistor. Transistors change and amplify electrical signals and power. The DS3800HRPB has eight red toggle switches that run along the length of the board, and a black divider. The DS3800HRPB has ninety small pink resistors and two large pink resistors. Resistors limit the flow of energy around the circuit board.

The amount of energy that each resistor can retain is marked externally with difference-colored rings.
