GE's DS3800NEPA1D1B is a motor shaker board manufactured as part of the Mark IV Speedtronic series. Designed for steam and gas turbine control management, the Mark IV can also be used to sequence turbines and auxiliary equipment for automatic start-up, cooling and shutdown procedures. Mark IV can also be used to protect turbine systems from unsafe operating conditions.
The DS3800NEPA1D1B is a vertically heavy board because of the connection of two modules from Raycom Electronics (44B379508-G02), which are placed near the middle of the PCB. The DS3800NEPA1D1B also uses the following components:
- A jumper switch that can be set to REV or NR.
- Four integrated circuits, mainly located on the right side of the board.
- Multiple resistors, including 9 larger resistors with orange/white/gold bands and 2 large black resistors.
- Multiple capacitors, including 9 larger capacitors.
- Two of the three straight pin connectors (male heads) are located on the left edge of the board. One is a 2-pin connector with a 6-2-2 mode, and the other is a 3-pin connector with a 7-2-1-1 mode. The last connector, located in the right center, is 8 pins and has a 4-2-2 pattern.
- Four rotating potentiometers.
- A thermistor or thermistor. When thermistors gain heat, they lose resistance, which makes them useful for voltage regulation and circuit protection.
