The DS3800NFIB board was created for the Speedtronic Mark IV series for turbine control. The Mark IV is manufactured by General Electric. The Mark IV is a range of turbine automation controls for gas and steam turbines. The Mark series has been in use since the late 1960s. The technology used in the Mark IV was developed from the late 1940s.
The Mark IV control system is designed to meet all requirements for turbine control. The system controls liquids, gases or both types of fuel according to load control and speed requirements. The Mark IV also controls temperature and water and steam injection. Automatic starting, closing and cooling are regulated by Mark IV. The Mark IV has a built-in diagnostic function for troubleshooting. The Speedtronic system is responsible for controlling fuel, air, and emissions, sequencing turbine fuels, and monitoring all turbine functions.
DS3800NFIB is a fan loss circuit card. The fan loss circuit prevents the turbine system from overheating. The fan loss card opens the normally closed contact and opens when the power unit fan is faulty. If the fan is lost, the thermostat contacts in the driver stop circuit will cause the driver to stop operating. This protects the power unit components from the damage that can be caused by operating under load without the forced air cooling provided by the fan.
