Product description
General Electric developed the 531X111PSHATG3 card as an electrical field control and power board. It is a member of GE's 531X replacement family of driver boards and cards. Members of this family can be installed in many of GE's older and outdated drive and exciter models. The board is a key component of the entire drive system, as it provides the power required for drive operation. The board can also be used to power the driver's motor excitation circuit. The G3 series of the board has MOV for AC lines, mounted externally rather than on the board itself.
The normal function of the board is an integral part of the overall board operation. Power supplies with rated voltages of 5 VDC, 15 VDC, and 24 VDC are generated from this card. The electric field circuit is powered by the card's integrated pulse transformer. Three relays on the board provide drive control to the user. RUN (K1), MAX (K2), and FIELD (K3) are all found on the card. The 531X111PSHATG3 includes a number of onboard adjustment controls. Three potentiometers allow users to adjust and calibrate current circuits and feedbacks. These are labeled P1 (SCALE), P2 (CFB ZERO), and P3 (CFB ADJUST). Feedback and current signals can also be adjusted using five configurable jumpers integrated into the board.
The user should meet the storage and installation parameters provided. Manufacturers provide these to reduce the risk of damage to the drive or its motherboard. Only qualified personnel are allowed to install the 531X111PSHATG3. Wiring and installation instructions can be found in the series manual as well as in the board's data sheet.
