When installed in a drive, the 531X111PSHABG1 card can be used as an electrical field control and power board. The device was originally manufactured by General Electric for its 531X series replacement boards. Cards developed for this series fit into many GE branded drives or exciters. Once the board is installed, it provides the necessary power for the drive. This particular unit is the G1 version of the board with AC line MOV installed on the board itself.

The main function of the 531X111PSHABG1 card is to provide the power needed to run the drive. From this card, the drive can obtain voltage ratings of 5 VDC, 15 VDC, and 24 VDC. It also provides power to the driver's electric field circuit, using a board-integrated pulse transformer. The card also has many onboard options to enhance the user experience.
