The IC693APU302 is a two-axis positioning module (APM) primarily used as a motion and position control element. The module is capable of controlling two (2) axes or two (2) servo motors to achieve simultaneous control of motion and position. The module is a smart module that can be configured to operate in standard and follow mode. In standard mode, the module runs and integrates the control with the user logic in the PLC memory for high performance control.

In driven mode, the module provides high performance electronic drives for both master and slave applications. The module is downloaded with a configuration developed using the Motion Programmer package or VersaPro software, with software versions as low as 1.1. The front panel of the module is fitted with two (2) moving-shaft ports via 9-pin D-shell connectors, and two (2) 25-pin high-density ports to accommodate servo connections. Custom cables can be used to establish connections to modules, however, pre-assembled cables are also available for faster wiring and terminating.

These cables include the 10-foot / 3-meter IC693CBL311 cable and the 3-foot / 1-meter IC693CBL317 cable and the 10-foot / 3-meter IC693CBL320 cable and the 3-foot / 1-meter cable and the 8-inch externally shielded pigtail. Compatible series 90-30 used with the IC693APU302 two-axis APM are CPU 311, CPU 313, and CPU 323, where up to three (3) APM modules can be installed, and CPU 331 or later allows up to eight (8) APM modules with three (3) instances per substrate.
