The IS420UCSCH1A is the first quad-core controller in the Mark VIe family. This controller is manufactured by General Electric and has the QNX Neutrino operating system. When using the QNX Neutrino operating system, the controller has the ability to run a highly reliable and high-speed operating system. The controller uses not only the QNX operating system, but also EFA(Embedded Field Agent) technology to deliver real-time data via a stable, connected Predix cloud-based application.

While most controllers used with the Mark VIe series have I/O capabilities that work with the device, the IS420UCSCH1A controller does not have the ability to host any application I/O. The controller can be used in a redundant group, and while in a redundant group, the controller connects all additional I/O networks to each controller in the redundant group, which provides input data to the controller.

When installing the IS420UCSCH1A controller, several requirements need to be met, some of which are to mount the UCSC device directly to the mounting base, leave at least approximately 4 inches of air clearance above and below the UCSC, and ensure that the operating temperature range is approximately 1 inch from any point on the UCSC controller.
