The IC694ALG220 is a 4-channel analog voltage input module manufactured by GE Fanuc. It offers four analog input channels and accepts inputs in the -10 to +10 volt range. By bridging the input terminals, a single channel can be used for 4 to 20 mA inputs. The conversion rate for each channel is 1 millisecond, and the update rate for any channel is 4 milliseconds. The module can be installed in any I/O slot of the RX3i PLC system.
If the IC694ALG220 is located in the RX3i universal backplane, an external +24 VDC isolated power supply is required to power the module. The external power supply must be connected through the TB1 connector on the left side of the backplane. If this module is located in the expansion baseboard, the power supply will provide the required isolation +24 VDC output. When the power supply is operating as expected, the module normal LED will light up.
All field connections to the module shall be routed using the appropriate grade of twisted-shielded instrument cable. This minimizes capacitive load and noise. The shielding layer can be connected to COM or GND. COM connections provide access to the common end of the analog circuit. The GND connection provides access to the backplane (rack ground). In addition, if the voltage source is suspended to limit the common-mode voltage, the (-) side of the voltage source can be connected to the COM terminal.
