在工业生产中,随着生产规模的扩大和复杂程度的提高,实际应用对控制系统的要求越来越高。在20世纪50~60年代,以模拟信号为主的电子装置和自动化仪表组成的监控系统取代传统的机电控制系统。
随后是在70~80年代,集散控制系统dcs(DistributedControlSystem)的出现,把大量分散的单回路测控系统通过计算机进行集中统一管理,用各种I/O功能模块代替控制室仪表,利用计算机实现回路调节、工况联锁、参数显示、数据存储等多种功能,从而实现了工业控制技术的飞跃。
DCS一般由操作站级、过程控制级和现场仪表***组成,其特点是“集中管理,分散控制”,基本控制功能在过程控制级中,工作站级的主要作用是监督管理。分散控制使得系统由于某个局部的不可靠而造成对整个系统的损害降到较低的程度,且各种软硬件技术不断走向成熟,极大地提高了整个系统的可靠性,因而迅速成为工业自动控制系统的主流。
但DCS的结构是多级主从关系,底层相互间进行信息传递必须经过主机,从而造成主机负荷过重,效率低下,并且主机一旦发生故障,整个系统就会“瘫痪”。而且DCS是一种数字—模拟混合系统,现场仪表仍然使用传统的4~20mA模拟信号,工程与管理成本高,柔性差。此外各制造商的DCS自成标准,通讯协议封闭,极大的制约了系统的集成与应用。

DCS is generally composed of operation station level, process control level and field instrument, which is characterized by "centralized management, decentralized control", the basic control function in the process control level, the main role of the workstation level is supervision and management. Decentralized control makes the system due to a local unreliability caused by the damage to the whole system to a lower degree, and various hardware and software technologies continue to mature, greatly improve the reliability of the whole system, and quickly become the mainstream of industrial automatic control system.
