To solder your SP3-37 flexible solar panel, heat your soldering iron tip and run it over the silver part. Use the tip of your hot iron to scrape off the plastic film on top and you will find that the plastic is burned off, creating a gap in your solar panel. By scraping away any remaining plastic, melt and place some welding wire in the alcove you just created. Finally, tin the wire and connect it to the solar panel position.

The other solar panel used for testing is a combination of two panels rated at 5.5V and 250mA. I ordered these solar panels from an e-commerce site. The instructions say it's a 1.2 watt single crystal solar panel. I connected the two 1.2W panels in parallel to form a larger panel. In theory, the combined panels could have an output power of more than 2.6 watts

We cannot measure the fill factor without load, but it is usually about 0.7.
