尽管用户对控制系统的结构改进表示欢迎，但他们并不希望对他们现有的仪表系统做大的改动。目前在现场总线的发展初期，大多数用户更倾向于对他们现有的仪表系统进行逐步的增添和替换;另一方面DCS系统及其仪表的消失或完全被取代，对于费用或人力而言也都是不合理的。现阶段可行的方案是考虑如何使现场总线与传统的DCS系统尽可能地协同工作，这种集成方案能够得到灵活的系统组态，以适用于更广泛的、富于实用价值的应用。

在DCS系统的I/O总线上集成现场总线的关键是通过一个现场总线接口卡挂在DCS的I/O总线上，实现现场总线系统中的数据信息映射成原有DCS的V/O总线上相对应的数据信息，如基本测量值、报警值或工艺设定值等，使得在DCS控制器所看到的现场总线来的信息就如同来自一个传统的DCS设备卡一样。这样便实现了在I/O总线上的现场总线技术集成。

The key to integrating fieldbus on the I/O bus of DCS system is to map the data information in the fieldbus system to the corresponding data information on the original DCS V/O bus through a fieldbus interface card, such as basic measurement value, alarm value or process setting value, etc. The information from the field bus seen in the DCS controller is just like that from a traditional DCS device card. This enables the integration of fieldbus technology on the I/O bus.
