Molex/Woodhead/ SST SST-PB3-CLX Series PROFIBUS master/Slave ControlLogix communication modules connect to Rockwell ControlLogix controllers to the PROFIBUS network. Each module has a communication port that is used as a PROFIBUS-DP master and/or slave station protocol to exchange data with other ProFIbus-compatible devices.

The SST-PB3-CLX-RLL module comes with its "Additional Configuration File" (AOP) for easy integration into ControlLogix systems using the RSLogix 5000 software. Data transfer from the SST module to the ControlLogix processor supports two modes; "Direct Mode" allows mapping of PROFIBUS data (496 input bytes /496 output bytes) and "paging" mode in the I/O processor image, Allows access to 1,984 input bytes and 1,968 output bytes of PROFIBUS data from Settings to user-defined data Spaces in Logix CPU memory.

The Remote link library software provides additional functionality to the BradCommunications SST Profibus module by allowing you to remotely monitor or download changes to the Profibus configuration. This is done by routing data from BradCommunications SST Profibus DP Master Configuration software to Allen-Bradley over Ethernet via Rockwell Automation's RSLinx software The ControlLogix backplane does this. Profibus scanners can be used on local racks or remote racks via CIP networks such as Ethernet /IP or control networks.
