TRIPLEX T8480C Advanced Power Management (APM) is an application Programming interface (API) jointly developed by Microsoft and Intel. It allows the operating system to communicate with the computer's BIOS for efficient power management.

The first version was released in 1992, and the latest APM specification is revision 1.2, released in 2006. Starting with Windows Vista, Microsoft discontinued support for APM in favor of Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI).

ICS TRIPLEX T8480C is a layered approach to device management. From the top layer, APM-aware applications and programs, such as device drivers, communicate with the operating system's APM drivers. This driver then communicates with the APM-aware BIOS, which controls the hardware and is then able to make changes based on requests sent from the upper layer.
