The new product simplifies the setup and configuration of deploying custom motion applications to any NI real-time controller that supports NI EtherCAT technology, including NI CompactRIO, PXI real-time controllers, and NI Industrial controllers. In addition, National Instruments is releasing the NI LabVIEW 2010 NI SoftMotion module to provide support for NI EtherCAT drives to simplify motion application development.

The new AKM brushless servo motor delivers superior dynamic performance, and the 05701-A-0361 is available in four different rack sizes with a high torque, density and speed range. The motor uses a low inertia rotor and a magnetic design with low teeth and low harmonic distortion. These motors also perfectly match NI servo drives and offer plug-and-play configurations with integrated Intelligent feedback device (SFD) technology and simplified cabling.
