Improvements in the protection of FANUC linear motors and the addition of built-in servo systems have broadened the applications of these motors. With the industry-wide trend towards high-speed machining, FANUC offers a wide variety of built-in spindles to complement linear and direct drive servos.

Spindle motors with dual drive technology and speeds up to 150 kW (200 HP) at 20,000 RPM will be showcased for aerospace machining, as well as optimized orientation and learning control features to reduce errors and increase productivity. The increased accuracy requirements for PC-based servo tuning and the need to make full use of the servo system have stimulated the need to optimize the servo tuning using PC-based software.

The display includes servo tuning technology using FANUC servo guidelines and advanced feedback technology to learn and correct encoder cycle errors during operation, as well as machine-mounted accelerometers to correct machine vibration in real time. For industrial machines in general, large motor technology has changed from hydraulic systems to servo-driven electric systems. FANUC offers a complete line of very large synchronous servo motors for the servo press and injection molding markets.
