国内开放的部分小型DCS，采用价格低、工作可靠的STD总线，因其是一种8位数据线的总线，不适用于大规模的16位以上的系统。

随着PC在过程控制领域中的广泛应用，PCI总线和ISA总线在中规模的DCS控制站也得到了应用。

I/O通道:从广义上来说，控制站的I/O接口，除过程I/O外，还应包括与高速数据公路的接口、与现场总线(Fieldbus)网的接口。在此，仅介绍过程l/O通道。数量不等(有1、4、8、16、32等)的过程I/O通道组合在一起，设计成卡件形式，称为I/O卡。

一般DCS中的过程I/O通道，有模拟量I/O通道、开关量(或称数字量)I/O通道及脉冲量输入通道等几种。
