With pulse control LSI, the development of acceleration/deceleration programs is much easier. There is an easy flow from the time you start writing the program to the completion of the operation. (See the flowchart below.) Not only can linear and S-curve acceleration/deceleration be easily programmed, but it is also easier to determine the current position due to the up/down counter values.
Because the CPU is able to make the LSI unmonitored, the LSI sends an interrupt signal to the CPU when the operation is complete. If necessary, external dedicated terminals can also force a stop to the pulse control LSI. The time required for development is greatly reduced, and high-frequency output pulses are possible regardless of the CPU's speed because the chip is not burdened by CPU speed or capability limitations. Pulse control LSI is specially designed for motion control and therefore has high operational reliability.
