G2010 A 10.4ST Each window can be programmed to operate in coupled or decoupled mode. Windows in decoupling mode utilize write, FIFO, and/or read prefetch FIOs to improve system performance. In coupling mode, the FIFO is bypassed and the VMEbus transaction is coupled directly to the PCI bus (i.e., the transfer on the VMEbus is completed only after completion on the PCI bus).

Enhanced Bus error handling - Enhancements to Cosmic chip bus error handling provide features. Latches and registers are provided to allow the SBC to read bus errors that cause failures in VMEbus addresses in all modes. Cosmic chip support is limited to the decoupling mode.

Support for bus cycle timeouts and bus error assertions is provided. The board can be configured to assert bus errors regardless of its status as a system controller. This Universe chip asserts a bus error only if it is the system controller. In addition, the board can be configured to assert interrupts when the bus cycle times out.
