The S800I/O is a comprehensive, distributed and modular process I/O system that communicates with the parent controller and PLCS via an industry-standard fieldbus. The TB820V2 modem is a fiber optic interface. The modem has electrical and optical interfaces that are logically the same bus. Up to 12 I/O modules can be connected to the electrical module and up to 7 clusters can be connected to the optical fiber module. Fiber interfaces are used for local distribution of I/O clusters, where more than 12I/O modules are required at I/O stations.
