The 2085-IF8 is an 8-channel voltage/current input module for Allen-Bradley's Micro800 product line. This extended I/O is a modular I/O that complements and extends the capabilities of Micro850™ controllers, which are connected to the Micro850 controller by using an I/O expansion port.
Each 2085-IF8 module contains two 12-pin RTB (detachable terminal). The 2085-IF8 module weighs 220 grams (7.76 ounces) and measures 44.5 x 90 x 87 mm (1.75 x 3.54 x 3.42 inches). The maximum bus current consumption is 110 mA at 5V DC and 50 mA at 24V DC.
The specifications for wire sizes are as follows: Copper wire is rated @ 90 °C (194 °F) or higher with a maximum insulation of 1.2 mm (3/64 inch). Class 2 shielding lines should be used. The allowable torque on the terminal screw is 0.5-0.6 Nm (4.4-5.3 lb-in.). The power consumption of the device during operation is 1.75 W. One green health indicator and eight red error indicators are provided on each module. The 2085-IF8 module supports eight inputs. These modules are factory calibrated and do not support customer calibration.
These modules support a resolution of 14 bits (13 data bits and 1 symbol bit). The supported data format is left-justified, 16-bit 2s complement. The supported conversion type is SAR (Successive Approximation Register)
The 2085-IF8 input voltage is user-configurable from 0-10 V and input current from 0-20 mA. The input impedance of the voltage terminal is greater than 1 Mω, and the input impedance of the current terminal is less than 100 Ω. Maximum overload specifications are 30V continuous or 32mA continuous, 1 channel at a time.
