Allen-Bradley 1794-OE4 is an analog output module for the Flex IO product family. The module is used as a component of a distributed I/O node and is compatible with Flex I/O communication adapters such as Ethernet, ControlNet, Profibus, and Remote I/O. The module features four (4) user-configurable output channels designed to provide 0 to 20mA, 4 to 20mA current signals as well as +/- 10VDC and 0 to 10VDC voltage signal signals. The module enables automatic and manual control of modulation devices such as variable frequency drivers (VFDS), modulation control valves, converters, sensors, dampers, shutters and other final control elements (FCE). The output channel of the module supports a non-isolated single-ended configuration.


The resolution of the 1794-OE4 is a 12-bit plus sign with a specific increase or decrease in voltage of 2.56mV/cnt and a specific increase or decrease in current of 5.13μA/cnt. The analog data of the module is stored in a left-justified register format, i.e., a 16-bit 2's complement. The register is converted using pulse width modulation.


The 1794-OE4 supports installation using Flex I/O communication adapters, including 1794-ACN15, 1794-ACNR15, 1794-AND, 1794-AENT, and 1794-AENTR. It can also be used with MicroLogix compact controllers via the 1794-ASB and 1794-APB communication adapters.


The 1794-OE4 is compatible with various terminal mounts, such as the 1794-TB2, 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S, 1794-TB3T, 1794-TB3TS, and 1794-TBN. Only one (1) terminal base is required to mount the module. The terminal base provides DIN rail connections and output signal terminal contacts. 1794-OE4 The required key switch position is 4.


The module measures 94.0 x 94.0 x 53.3 mm or 3.7 x 3.7 x 2.1 inches. It has a built-in group diagnostic LED consisting of one (1) green/red power/status indicator.


The 1794-OE4 is equipped with a green status indicator to monitor the operation of the module. The module does not require calibration. The module has an output resolution of 12-bit + symbol, a voltage of 2.56 mV/cnt, and a current output of 5.13 μA/cnt. It uses pulse width modulation as its output conversion type, with an output conversion rate of 1.024 ms for all channels.


The 1794-OE4 module has a current input accuracy of 0.425% full scale at 25 degrees Celsius, and the current input accuracy drifts with temperature to 0.0069% per degree Celsius full scale. The voltage input accuracy is 0.133% full scale at 25 degrees Celsius, and the voltage input accuracy per degree Celsius drifts to 0.0045% with temperature.


The module's output signals range from 4 to 20 mA, 0 to 20 mA, +/-10 volts, and 0 to 10 volts. The 1794-OE4 also has 70 mA external DC supply current at 24 V DC. No individual channel is isolated, but the module has a continuous isolation voltage of 50 V between I/O and the system. The device has a voltage or input terminal input step response time of 24 ms and a bus current rating of 20 mA. The module has a 24 ms (voltage output) step response time up to 63% of full scale Settings. It has a maximum current load of 3 mA at the voltage output, and the output current has a resistance load of 15 to 750 Ω.
