The Allen-Bradley 1756-RM is a ControlLogix redundant module. This module can only be used with the ControlLogix platform to enable controller redundancy. It manages the connection of two (2) identical controllers installed in the same rack with the same components and configuration. It provides redundant system monitoring and module health through embedded LED displays such as PRI, COM and OK. The 1756-RM has been released as Series A and Series B. The series is basically an enhanced version of the previous series, however, the 1756-RM with different series can coexist in a redundant configuration.
It is highly recommended to install the same series for maximum operability of redundant Settings. When used with the same series of redundant modules, the speed can reach 100 Mbps.
The 1756-RM is equipped with one (1) single-mode LC fiber optic connector. It requires the use of 1756-RMCx redundant cables to synchronize the operation of redundant controller pairs.
