The 1761-NET-AIC is an Allen Bradley MicroLogix 1000 advanced interface controller. This module belongs to the MicroLogix 1000 series. It enables DF1 enabled devices to communicate with the DH485 network. It is compatible with MicroLogix 1000, 1200 and 1500 controllers as well as SLC controllers. The 1761-NET-AIC is powered by an external 24VDC power supply connected to an external power terminal.
The converter's communication rate filter matches the network communication rate through the communication rate selector switch. The 1761-NET-AIC Advanced Interface converter has two (2) RS232 communication ports with physical interfaces of 9-pin SUB-D connector type and 8-pin Mini DIN circular connector type. This AIC also has a DH485 Phoenix plug connector for connection to the DH485 network. The communication data rate of this AIC is configured through the provided selector switch installed on the front panel of this AIC.
To use a communication cable to power an AIC, it must be used with a MicroLogix or SLC Programmable logic controller (PLC). In addition, the connection should be established via the 8-pin mini DIN interface, as this terminal transmits 24VDC power to the AIC. In addition, when you intend to power the device through a communication cable, the power switch position must be in the "Cable" option. In other cases, the AIC must be powered by an external 24VDC power source with the switch assigned to an "external" location.
