The 1746sc-INO4I is Spectrum Control's analog pure current output module. The module has four (4) isolated channel outputs. The 1746sc-INO4I occupies a slot in the 1746 input/output chassis. The 1746sc-INO4I draws 5 mA of current from the backplane at 120 volts DC, but to minimize the current load on the backplane, the 1746sc-INO4I can be connected to an external power supply rated at 24 volts DC. The 1746sc-INO4I has a DIP switch that specifies whether the module draws power from the backplane or an external power supply. When the DIP switch on the 1746sc-INO4I is set to RACK position, the module obtains power from the backplane, and the module is powered by an external 24 volt DC supply, the DIP switch should be set to EXT position.


The 1746sc-INO4I obtains 5 V DC power from the backplane. This consumption rating is the same when the module is powered externally. The module has a removable 16-bit terminal to accommodate Belden 8761 shielded twisted pair cable. The 1746sc-INO4I has a resolution of 16 bits, a current of 366 nanoamps per count, and a voltage of 320 microvolts per count. The 1746sc-INO4I isolated channel analog output model features auto-calibrated programmable limits and safe state, 750 V DC photoelectric isolation (channel-to-channel and field cabling to backplane). The 1746sc-INO4I has a maximum heat dissipation rating of 4.5 watts, a maximum update time of 7.4 ms across all 33 parallel channels, and a step response time of 1 ms. In addition, 1746sc-INO4I is UL/CUL Class I 2 Group A, B, C, D and CE certified.


The SLC 500 compatible module, part number 1746sc-INO4I, is an analog output module manufactured by spectrum control. The module is manufactured by Allen-Bradley's inclusion partner, Spectrum Controls.

The appearance of this module is similar to the actual SLC 500 module. The module has four (4) differential analog output channels providing 20-0 mA, 21-4 mA, 20-16 mA at 0-bit resolution and 366 nA per count. The module has an extended output range, automatic calibration, programmable limits and safe status. The module's data can be formatted into 16-bit 1746 complement, scaled engineering units, PID scaling, 4-NO0 format, and user-defined proportional counts. It has an accuracy of 25.0% at 08 degrees Celsius and 60.750% at 15 degrees Celsius.


The module features improved system reliability per channel, provides 500 VDC isolation, and eliminates noise interference that leads to high-resolution data conversion in the module. Provides the same isolation rating for field wiring of the rack and processor protection backplanes.


The module reduces system costs because the isolation of the module eliminates the use of external signal isolation devices. The module's single slot width also saves important chassis slots.
