Allen-Bradley 1734-IR2 is a point I/O resistance temperature detector (RTD) and resistance input module. The module is ideal for temperature applications or applications where sensors are installed that provide a resistance signal as a feedback variable.
The 1734-IR@ is part of the POINT I/O family and is a cost-effective, panel space-saving module, as it supports mounting onto a standard 35mm DIN rail and occupies only 56 x 12 x 75.5 mm (2.21 x 0.47 x 2.97 inches). In addition, it has an open housing, which means that any housing suitable for the application field is equally suitable for the 1734-IR2.
The 1734-IR2 primarily has two (2) resistance temperature detector (RTD) input channels. The module is a 16 nit resolution analog input module, ideal for temperature applications. It requires the use of 1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TOP, or 1734-TOPS wiring base assemblies.
The 1734-IR2 has a built-in trigonometry integrated analog-to-digital converter with a resolution of 16 bits, 9.5mΩ /cnt 0.03 °C/cnt (Pt385@25 °C) [0.05 °F/cnt (Pt385@77 °F). The converted data is stored as signed integers. Its absolute accuracy is 0.1% full scale @ 25 °C (77 °F). The module is factory calibrated.
The 1734-IR2 measures 2.21 x 0.47 x.2.97 inches, weighs 0.036 kg or 0.08 pounds, and has an open housing. It can be mounted using DIN rails and is compatible with 1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TOP or 1734-TOPS terminal mounts. The module has a resolution of 16 bits, 9.5 milliohm /cnt and 0.03 degrees Celsius /cnt. It also has an incremental Sigma conversion type and a signed integer data format. The operator can select the module's temperature data format from four predefined scales: Celsius, Fahrenheit, Kelvin, and Rankine, as well as a custom scale (mV).
The 1734-IR2 module also has an alarm function to alert the user to underrange, overrange, open circuit, and low or high level conditions. The 1734-IR2 has no maximum overload input protection and does not require external DC power to operate. It also has a non-condensing relative humidity of 5 to 95 degrees, an operating temperature range of -20 to 55 degrees Celsius, and a storage temperature range of -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. The 1734-IR2 has an operating shock rating of 30 g, a non-operating shock rating of 50 g, and an operating vibration of 500 g at 5 to 10 Hz. The 1734-IR2 also features 50 V continuous isolation voltage from I/O to the system.
