Danaher Motion's Pacific Scientific 6445 is an economical, high-performance microstepper drive that combines a programmable divider. The package uses an RS-232]/485 port and supports single-axis or multi-axis communications of 9600 baud.

16 programmable inputs and 12 programmable outputs are compatible with standard 5 to 30 VDC I/O. The 6445 has 12k battery support RAM for storing parameters and moving profiles. Danaher Motion's Stepper BASICTM simplifies motion control programming, an easy-to-learn extension of the BASICTM protocol.

The resolution of the 1.8 engine ranges from 200 to 51,200 steps per revolution. Step size is augmented in decimal. Higher resolution (microstepping) provides smoother operation in low-speed resonance regions.

The patented digital electronically damped electric skis ensure full motor torque across all speed ranges by damping motor oscillations common to stepper systems. Full motor torque can be achieved over the entire speed range, whether in full or microstep mode.
