Redundant module

The Bulletin 1756 and 1757 ControlLogix redundancy modules support a fully redundant controller architecture with no additional programming required. The program automatically cross-loads from the master controller to the slave controller, and the master controller automatically updates the slave controller through data changes to keep the controller in sync. If the primary controller fails, control is automatically switched to the secondary controller, ensuring that the highest priority functions are performed and achieving "no impact switching". Controller redundancy is transparent to any device connected via EtherNet/IP or ControlNet networks. For applications that must run in extreme environments, select the ControlLogix Extreme Environment Redundancy module.

Communication module

The ControlLogix communication module supports EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Data Highway Plus, remote I/O, Foundation Fieldbus, serial, DH-485, and SynchLink networks. You can interface with the ControlLogix communication module through the ControlLogix gateway (no controller in the gateway rack) or directly to the ControlLogix controller. For EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, Data Highway Plus, and remote I/O networks, corresponding ControlLogix extreme environment communication modules are provided.

I/O module

Bulletin 1756 ControlLogixI/O module provides a full range of digital, diagnostic digital, analog, and motion control I/O to meet the needs of a variety of applications. Any of these I/O modules can be used in the native framework of the ControlLogix controller. In addition to the motion control modules, these modules are available in a framework that is linked to the ControlLogix controller across the ControlNet or EtherNet/IP network in the ControlLogix system.
