The Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8mm proximity sensor system consists of a 3300 XL 8mm probe, a 3300 XL extension cord, and a 3300 XL front-end. The system provides a voltage surface with an output proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductivity, and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values.

The main applications of the system are vibration and position measurement on fluid film bearing machines, as well as bond phase reference and velocity measurement.
